Hiring: Senior Associate, Family Well-Being Strategy Group
The Annie E. Casey Foundation is devoted to developing a brighter future for millions of children and young people with respect to their educational, economic, social and health outcomes. The Foundation’s work focuses on strengthening families, building stronger communities and ensuring access to opportunity, because children, youth and young adults need all three to succeed. Casey advances research and solutions to overcome the barriers to success, help communities demonstrate what works and influence decision makers to invest in strategies based on solid evidence.
At Casey, you will find a dynamic environment with staff of diverse backgrounds and perspectives who share a deep commitment to advancing the Foundation’s mission. Casey staff also have flexible schedules, including a hybrid work week, to support a healthy work-life balance.
The Family Well-Being Strategy Group (FWSG) aims to ensure all children and youth from birth through age 26 and their families are safe, healthy and equipped to thrive together, free of unnecessary child welfare system involvement. FWSG works with a broad array of partners to create responsive, equitable and effective well-being approaches — and identify community solutions — that transform the purpose of a child welfare response from the adversarial and intrusive process that follows abuse and neglect allegations to earlier support and services with family at the center. FWSG’s work includes preventing children from entering child welfare systems, child welfare system reform and older youth strategies, including the Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative®.
The Foundation is seeking a senior associate to lead the system reform efforts that align with the FWSG’s focus on eliminating disconnection, advancing permanence and connecting with movements to scale and influence best practices. This senior-level position will report to an associate director and be part of several cross-functional teams within the FWSG and the Foundation.
Qualified candidates will have the following:
A bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public policy or a related field; master’s degree desired, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of 5 years post-bachelor’s degree experience in a human service field with an emphasis on working with and on behalf of older youth from a racial equity perspective.
Minimum three years’ management experience within the human services field (e.g., child welfare, juvenile justice, mental health.), including supervisory responsibilities as well as operational oversight of budgets and strategic planning.
Demonstrated commitment to improved outcomes for children and families.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a diverse interdisciplinary team, inclusive of those with real-life experience in the child welfare system in a co-design capacity.
